Certain evangelical Christians believe in an end-of-time event known as the “Rapture”, where all believers ascend to heaven. They do not concern themselves with what happens after the rapture because, as long as they diligently live a good Christian life, their faith guarantees that they will ascend to heaven leaving behind all earthly flaws. In contrast, social movements that advocate for radical reform are often tasked with envisioning how they materialize their reforms and justify how their reforms would alter the world for the better. However, some activists and scholars (including prominently the Slovenian Philosopher Slavoj Žižek) argue social movements should endorse the rapture mindset, in which achieving revolution will free the world of its flaws, without having to describe what happens after the revolution.
